An exploration…
My name is Suzie. I am an artist, the child of an artist, and the sibling of an artist. Art is in my genes (and my jeans). I love gray and blue and expressing life through art. I work mainly in oils and watercolor on canvas, and sometimes on paper, and sometimes on my pants (if I’m wearing any).
My Mom, Rodema, was an artist and art teacher. She died in 2012 from Ovarian Cancer. I miss her every day. Art helps to keep her close. I feel the connection in using some of her brushes and her paint splattered easel. I know she is proud of me.
Art is not only part of my life; it is something which gives me life. I deal with diagnosed anxiety and depression disorders. I’m a cancer survivor. Making art supports my mental health. You buying my art helps to support me in creating more art. It’s a fabulous circle! Thank you for viewing my work!

Eva Hesse, a modern artist who has become an inspiration for me, said “art is the artifact of the process.”
Art is what we are left with after we “do” the act of making art. It’s the thing birthed from the love of creating and exploring.
I love the act of creating! I also love being able to share what I’ve created. Each work represents a unique moment, a blending of paint, light, time, and thought. I enjoyed those moments. I hope you will enjoy what was created in those moments—artifacts of a process and a moment. My art is made with love.
I also believe art should be accessible to everyone. I have a variety of pieces and price options. If you don’t see something that fits your budget or your space, please contact me. Really. I’m an artist. I get it. Money is a tricky thing, but art is for everyone!
If you have questions about my art, please contact me. If you are interested in a bespoke piece for your home, office, or as a gift, please let me know.
